Regina Drummond, Esq.

Chairwoman of the Board

Regina C. Drummond is a graduate of the University of Virginia and a 1998 graduate of the Villanova University School of Law. She has been a full time attorney advisor for the United States Patent and Trademark Office for twenty years, specializing in Trademark Prosecution Law. Regina’s work in Intellectual Property secures protections from infringements, counterfeiting and marketplace confusion for the goods and services of others, legitimizing many national and international brands and companies.

Crowned the first African-American Miss Philadelphia within the Miss America Scholarship organization, Regina knows the importance of leading her community.  She continues to participate in promoting the educational, professional, community service and talent accomplishments of young women by volunteering with the Miss Philadelphia Scholarship organization. She also judges other local pageants within the Miss America organization. Regina spends the majority of her time volunteering at her daughters’ schools and supporting the activities that encourage a balance of a quality education with cultural and social outlets.  Regina is a strong proponent of faith in God and living life to the fullest because “living is the actual special occasion.”

Farah Artis

Secretary of the Board

Farah began a corporate career as a Corporate Administrator. This included managing contributions to local nonprofit organizations and charities. Farah also holds over a decade of expertise as a Project Administrator, Internal Auditor and Procurement Specialist, with experience spanning across several projects in Engineering, Hospitality, Health Care, Department of Defense LOGCAP and State Government. As part of Fluor’s Supplier Diversity Committee, Farah interviewed and trained vendors on how to secure corporate bids as minority and disadvantaged entities.

Farah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management from the National Graduate School of Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Process Improvement Certification from Juran Global.  Farah has implemented process improvement (DMAIC) projects for organizations and small businesses that were focused on issues resolved by revamping new hire processes and eliminating process waste.  Farah is also the owner of True Joy Bakery.

Rayna Andrews

Treasurer of the Board

Rayna Andrews is a public health ambassador, author and activist with her core work in food security. Rayna is the Founder of the Healthy Food Movement, a food literacy initiative focused on solving preventative health disparities for our next generation. She also serves as the Senior Director of Community Impact for Feeding America.

In her spare time, she enjoys sharing her latest book Alex McGreen and the Tale of the Mysterious Kale with young readers at area food pantries and local Boys & Girls Clubs. She also volunteers her time on several boards, such as Rotary International and serves as co-chair for a respected university’s cancer center advisory board. She’s been named a Healthcare Hero by Biz Times Magazine and was recently named one of the most influential African-American leaders by Madison 365 Magazine in 2019. In addition, her accolades include being named one of a United Way Philanthropic 5 recipient.

Rayna holds a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Urban Planning and real estate development and a Bachelors in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Marilyn Pearlman

Communications Chair

Marilyn Pearlman started her career as an English and mass media studies teacher in Atlanta Public Schools and got into PR by doing volunteer work for numerous community organizations as well as conducting research and celebrity interviews for local radio and TV stations.

Her knowledge of the Atlanta community has been honed through involvement in hundreds of business and community organizations over 42 years in Atlanta. She has served as president of an Atlanta Kiwanis Club and attended international conventions to represent the Club.

Today, Marilyn leads Atlanta Cause Marketing & PR and continues her cause marketing and public relations work with various clients across industries including a green builder, actors and entertainers, nonprofits serving children and families as well as other types of businesses and organizations.

Pearlman graduated from Rhodes College, located in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. Her passions include dogs, aerobics, the arts and travel, and she enjoys keeping abreast of styles and trends. She resides in a house that her father designed and built
